Regular Season Round 8: Aguilas - Halcones 78-72

Date: November 20, 2015
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Panama City: Aguilas (#4) and Halcones (#6). Aguilas (4-4) won against visiting Halcones (2-6) 78-72. Halcones were ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 45-36 second half run of Aguilas. Aguilas had a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Naturalized Puerto Rican Nate Butler Lind (198-89, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Jonathan King (198-90, college: Abil.Christian) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international forward Orlando Ortega (196-81) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Joshua Chambers (195-83, college: N.Colorado) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Halcones. Halcones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aguilas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 4-4 record. Halcones lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Aguilas will play against higher ranked Toros (#3) in David in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Halcones will play at home against the league's second-placed Correcaminos and hope to get back on the winning track.
