WNBL top team - Perth Lynx (7-2) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked Adelaide Lightning (2-7) 93-85. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-85. Perth Lynx forced 19 Adelaide Lightning turnovers and outrebounded them 35-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. American swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) fired 28 points and 4 steals for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Betnijah Laney (183-93, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. International point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah, agency: LBM Management) produced 26 points and 5 assists and American forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Perth Lynx and four Adelaide Lightning players scored in double figures. Perth Lynx have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-2 record, which they share with Sydney. Adelaide Lightning at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Perth Lynx will meet SEQ (#4) in the next round. Adelaide Lightning will play against Bendigo Spirit (#5) and hope to secure a win.
