Regular Season Round 7: Nea Kifisia - AEK Athens 54-78

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: AEK Athens (#1) and Nea Kifisia (#5). Nea Kifisia was crushed at home by 24 points 54-78 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by AEK Athens. Nea Kifisia managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (203-85, agency: BeoExcell) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Dustin Hogue (198-92, college: Iowa St.) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Nikos Gikas (186-91, agency: Octagon Europe) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK Athens (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Nea Kifisia at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Koroivos. AEK Athens are looking forward to face Aris (#4) in Thessaloniki in the next round. Nea Kifisia will play at home against Apollon Patras and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
