Regular Season Round 9: Alcobendas - Azuqueca 63-83

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Alcobendas (2-4) was outplayed at home by fourth ranked Azuqueca (4-2) 83-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Azuqueca. Alcobendas was better in fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American center Olajide Keshinro (203-90, college: Mercy, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Sergi Salamanca (190-94) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Azuqueca players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Jose Maria Gil (207-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and center Jorge Tejera (200-92) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Alcobendas' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Azuqueca maintains fourth place in Group B with 4-2 record, which they share with Real Canoe. Loser Alcobendas dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Azuqueca will face Villarrobledo (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alcobendas will play against Gran Canaria (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
