Regular Season Round 12: Gimle BBK - Tromso 69-80

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Tromso (6-1) beat 9th ranked Gimle BBK (3-7) in Bergen 80-69. The game was mostly controlled by Tromso. Gimle BBK was better in second period 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gimle BBK 45-22 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tromso brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American center Casiem Drummond (208-88, college: Georgetown, KY) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 23 rebounds and 4 blocks. Bulgarian guard Kiril Raykov (192-87) chipped in 34 points (!!!). At the other side the best for losing team was guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Daniel Berg (195-86, college: NYIT) added 20 points respectively. Four Gimle BBK players scored in double figures. Gimle BBK's coach Audun Eskeland rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tromso maintains second position with 6-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Ammerud Bskt. Gimle BBK lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Tromso's next round opponent will be Froya Basket (#3) in Laksevag, which may be the game of the day.
