Regular Season Round 8: AZS PS Gliwice - Wisla Krakow 86-82

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Wisla Krakow (2-6) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked AZS PS Gliwice (4-3) 86-82 on Saturday. AZS PS Gliwice made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 Wisla Krakow turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Krzysztof Wasowicz (183-94) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Swingman Daniel Pelka (193-80) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). AZS PS Gliwice's coach Sylwester Walczuk used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Rafal Zglobicki (196-94) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and power forward Kamil Kamecki (200-87) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Wisla Krakow players scored in double figures. AZS PS Gliwice moved-up to fourth place in Group C. Wisla Krakow lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. AZS PS Gliwice will face Alba Chorzow (#6) on the road in the next round. Wisla Krakow will play against Pogon RS (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
