Regular Season Round 9: Tenerife Naut. - Casvi 80-67

Very predictable result in Santa Cruz where third ranked Tenerife Naut. (5-1) beat 14th ranked Casvi (1-5) 80-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Tenerife Naut.. Casvi was better in fourth quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Casvi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Niang Sergine (200-88) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Roberto de la Rosa (193-85) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jorge Sanchez (198-94) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Tenerife Naut.. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Albacete. Loser Casvi dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face Torrelodones (#6) in the next round. Casvi will play against Real Madrid II (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
