Thirteenth-ranked Segle XXI (1-7) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Picken Claret (5-3) in Valencia on Saturday. Picken Claret managed to secure only three-point victory 62-59. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 3 points. Picken Claret made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Segle XXI turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Picken Claret moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Estudiantes. Loser Segle XXI keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Picken Claret will face Plenilunio (#8) in Madrid in the next round. Segle XXI will play at home against Almeria (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
