Regular Season Round 10: Quimper - Berck 72-68

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Quimper UJAP (4-6) beat at home 12th ranked Berck (3-6) 72-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. American point guard Omar Strong (175-90, college: Texas Southern) scored 17 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Thomas Seguela (201-93) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Quimper UJAP's coach Hugues Occansey allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and guard Simon Cretaux (190-89) scored 18 points and 5 steals. Quimper UJAP moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Caen. Berck lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. Quimper UJAP will face higher ranked Angers BC (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Berck will play against Lourdes-Tarbes (#3) having rather not much hope for a victory.
