Regular Season Round 10: La Rochelle - Maurienne 77-75

There was an upset when higher ranked Aix-Maurienne (6-3) was edged on the road by eleventh ranked La Rochelle (5-5) 77-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 2 points. Slovakian power forward Justin Sedlak (206-87, college: Florida Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Faycal Sahraoui (186-79) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Steffon Bradford (198-77, college: Nebraska) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and naturalized Algerian Karim Atamna (196-80) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. La Rochelle have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eleventh position with 5-5 record. Loser Aix-Maurienne keeps the fourth place with three games lost. La Rochelle will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aix-Maurienne will play at home against the league's leader ADA Blois (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
