Regular Season Round 17: Osaka Evessa - Kanazawa Samuraiz 67-73

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Osaka Evessa (9-6) against sixth ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (9-6) on Saturday night. Host Osaka Evessa was defeated by Kanazawa Samuraiz in a tough game in Osaka 67-73. The guests trailed by 13 points at the halftime before their 40-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Marshall Brown (200-85, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Kanazawa Samuraiz players scored in double figures. American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) answered with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kanazawa Samuraiz have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Osaka Evessa. Osaka Evessa lost third consecutive game. Kanazawa Samuraiz will have a break next round. Osaka Evessa will play again at home against Kanazawa Samuraiz (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
