Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Cork: TM Hotel Cork (#4) and Brunell (#7). TM Hotel Cork (5-2) smashed visiting Brunell (2-5) by 20 points 75-55. TM Hotel Cork players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by the former international guard Claire Rockall (178-90, college: Iowa St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Niamh Dwyer (176-82, college: Monmouth) supported her with 17 points. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by power forward Amy Waters did not help to save the game for Brunell. Canadian forward Kaylee Kilpatrick (193-93, college: New Hampshire) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Killester and WIT Wildcats. Brunell lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with P.Panthers. TM Hotel Cork will play against P.Panthers (#8) in Portlaoise in the next round where they are favorite. Brunell will play at home against the league's leader DCU Mercy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
