Regular Season Round 8: El Olivar - Getafe 79-88

Getafe can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Zaragoza, where they defeated El Olivar (2-6) 88-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-79. Getafe made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Ruben Martinez (196-85) who added 12 points and 7 assists during the contest. Getafe's coach Armando Gomez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Sergi Garcia (191-97) responded with 17 points and Czech swingman Simon Pursl (200-97) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Getafe and four El Olivar players scored in double figures. Getafe maintains fourteenth position with 1-7 record. Newly promoted El Olivar keeps the thirteenth place with six games lost. Getafe will meet at home league's second-placed Meridiano Alicante in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. El Olivar will play against Cambados (#8) and hope to secure a win.
