Regular Season Round 6: Dinamo Tbilisi - Olimpi 55-67
Date: November 21, 2015
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Tbilisi: Olimpi (#5) and Dinamo Tbilisi (#4). Dinamo Tbilisi was defeated at home 55-67 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Dinamo Tbilisi was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 24-6 charge of Olimpi, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dinamo Tbilisi to just 6 points in fourth quarter. American guard Jeremy Bynum (193-88, college: Jacksonville St.) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Milan Oluic (210-84) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Bynum is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Olimpi players scored in double figures. Olimpi's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international center Giorgi Sharabidze (210-90, agency: Mansfield and Associates) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Mikheil Berishvili (204-87) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Olimpi (3-3) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dinamo Tbilisi and Rustavi. Olimpi will meet at home Energy Invest (#4) in the next round. Dinamo Tbilisi will play against the league's second-placed Kutaisi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
