Regular Season Round 12: Asker Aliens - Nidaros Jets 71-50

The game in Asker supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Nidaros Jets (4-6) played at the court of seventh ranked Asker Aliens (4-3). Asker Aliens smashed Nidaros Jets 71-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Asker Aliens. Nidaros Jets managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Nidaros Jets to just 7 points in third quarter. The winners were led by the former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) who scored that evening 28 points and DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Coach Rob Knight's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 10 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Decorey Jones (201-90, college: Faulkner) did not help to save the game for Nidaros Jets. Forward Petter Wanvik (194-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Centrum. Nidaros Jets at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Asker Aliens will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nidaros Jets will play against Baerum Basket (#7) in Bekkestua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
