Regular Season Round 8: Trefl II Sopot - AZS UMK Torun 60-72

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Trefl II Sopot (2-6) was defeated at home by second ranked AZS UMK Torun (6-2) 72-60 on Sunday. AZS UMK Torun forced 25 Trefl II Sopot turnovers. The best player for the winners was Radoslaw Plebanek (190-85) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Slawomir Murowicki (194-83) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Lukasz Kolenda (188-99) produced 7 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Michal Kolenda (200-97) added 22 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS UMK Torun maintains second position in Group A with 6-2 record behind leader Gimbasket PRZM, which they share with Pelplin. Loser Trefl II Sopot keeps the tenth place with six games lost. AZS UMK Torun will face Domino Inowr. (#8) in Inowroclaw in the next round where they are favorite. Trefl II Sopot will play on the road against SMS PZKosz in Wladyslawowo and hope to win that game.
