Regular Season Round 10: Etzella - Residence 107-91

There was no surprise in Ettelbruck where 8th ranked Residence (3-7) was defeated by sixth ranked Etzella (5-5) 107-91 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 53-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Etzella made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Etzella especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International swingman Jairo Delgado (188-85) had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Nelson Delgado (188-80) chipped in 28 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) responded with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and British-Nigerian Oladapo Ayuba (198-86, college: UMKC) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Etzella and four Residence players scored in double figures. Etzella moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sparta and Basket Esch. Loser Residence dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Heffingen and Soleuvre. Etzella will meet bottom-ranked Contern (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Residence will play against Sparta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
