Regular Season Round 8: North Control B. - Shanghai S. 99-89

There was a surprise result in Beijing where fifteenth ranked North Control (4-4) defeated higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (4-4) 99-89 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-89. North Control forced 23 Shanghai Sharks turnovers. Strangely Shanghai Sharks outrebounded North Control 52-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dorell Wright (206-85) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) who added 19 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. Four North Control players scored in double figures. International guard XiaoYu Liu (191-89) responded with 23 points and 4 steals and American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) scored 22 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. North Control moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Shanghai Sharks. North Control will face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#5) in Hangzhou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
