Regular Season Round 8: Maccabi T-A - Maccabi Haifa 103-63

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tel-Aviv. First ranked Maccabi T-A faced 3rd ranked Maccabi Haifa. Host Maccabi T-A (6-2) smashed guests from Haifa (4-3) 103-63. The game without a history. Maccabi T-A led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Maccabi T-A outrebounded Maccabi Haifa 39-28 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maccabi T-A made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American point guard Jordan Farmar (188-86, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 assists and American forward Brian Randle (203-85) who added 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. International center Alexey Chubrevich (212-86) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Oz Blayzer (199-92) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi T-A have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-2 record. Loser Maccabi Haifa dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Maccabi T-A will meet Ironi Nahariya (#4) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Haifa will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona and hope to secure a win.
