Regular Season Round 14: CDE Talca - CD Puerto Varas 77-82

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Espanol de Talca (6-7) was defeated at home by eighth ranked CD Puerto Varas (6-7) 82-77 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But Espanol de Talca won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Jonathan Inman (196-87, college: Alabama A&M) had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Jay Hook (193-93, college: Tulane) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four CD Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. American forward Dwight McCombs (203-89, college: Cent.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Nigerian-American forward Bayo Arigbon (197-86, college: San Diego Chr.) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. CD Puerto Varas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Espanol de Talca. CD Puerto Varas will meet at home league's leader Universidad de Concepcion in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Espanol de Talca will play against Puente Alto and hope to secure a win.
