Regular Season Round 8: Itago Gdynia - Asseco II 76-88

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Itago Gdynia (2-5) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Asseco II (5-2) 88-76 on Sunday. Asseco II looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Michal Kolodziej (199-97) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Marcin Wielunski (196-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Five Asseco II players scored in double figures. Asseco II's coach Sebastjan Krasevec used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piotr Peksyk (196-91) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and center Michal Kalinski (204-80) added 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Asseco II moved-up to fourth place in Group A. Itago Gdynia lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Asseco II will face TKM Wloclawek (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Itago Gdynia will play against SMS PZKosz in Wladyslawowo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
