Regular Season Round 8: Nowa Sol - Sudety 63-54

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Sudety (4-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Nowa Sol (6-2) 63-54 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Marcel Ponitka (189-97, college: High School) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Radoslaw Trubacz (196-94) chipped in 23 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Karol Wojciul (200-91) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Lukasz Niesobski (185-85) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Nowa Sol maintains third position in Group D with 6-2 record behind leader Gimbasket PRZM. Loser Sudety keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Nowa Sol will face league's leader Polonia Leszno on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sudety will play against the league's second-placed Gornik (#2) and hope to win that game.
