Regular Season Round 13: Eidsvoll - Kongsberg 43-79

Bottom-ranked Eidsvoll (0-8) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Kongsberg (6-3) 79-43. It looked good early as Eidsvoll took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kongsberg had a 19-5 second period charge getting the lead and Eidsvoll was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 43-79. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Eidsvoll to just 5 points in second quarter. Kongsberg dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Eidsvoll's 24. They outrebounded Eidsvoll 45-28 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kongsberg players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Eidsvoll's players. American guard Brandon Boggs (196-92, college: W.Carolina) nailed 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and German forward Christian Schmidt (201-83, college: Buffalo) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Kongsberg players scored in double figures. Kongsberg's coach Bard Stoller felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Nigerian-American forward Joseph Nwabuzor (192-85) came up with 9 points and 6 rebounds and guard Rune Jorgensen (186-84) added 9 points respectively for Eidsvoll in the defeat. Kongsberg have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Eidsvoll at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
