Regular Season Round 8: Jiangsu D. - DongGuan L. 110-86

An interesting game took place in Nanjing where higher ranked DongGuan Leopards (4-3) were upset on the court of nineteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (2-6) 110-86 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Jiangsu Dragons. DongGuan Leopards was better in third quarter 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to DongGuan Leopards' 46. They outrebounded DongGuan Leopards 51-35 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) who added 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St., agency: Priority Sports) responded with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. and Qingdao E. Loser DongGuan Leopards dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
