Regular Season Round 8: Lucentum - Tarragona 74-52

Date: November 22, 2015
There was no surprise when 8th ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (3-5) was crushed on the road by second ranked Meridiano Alicante (6-2) 74-52 on Sunday. The game without a history. Meridiano Alicante led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was forward Eduardo Guillen (201-88, agency: Interperformances) who scored 13 points. American-British center Kaj-Bjorn Sherman (213-92, college: UTSA, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 6 points and 10 rebounds. Center Miquel Salvo Llambrich (205-94) produced 8 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Jamal Wilson (195-90, college: Rhode Island) added 10 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Meridiano Alicante maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Avila, which they share with Moron. Loser CB Tarragona 2017 keeps the eighth place with five games lost. Meridiano Alicante will face bottom-ranked Getafe (#14) in Madrid in the next round which should be another easy win for them. CB Tarragona 2017 will play on the road against Zornotza (#10) in Amorebieta-Echano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
