Regular Season Round 8: Correcaminos - Caballos 73-69

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Caballos (5-3) in Colon on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Correcaminos (5-3) 73-69. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 31-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Isaac St.Rose (190-83, college: John Brown) who scored 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Danilo Pinnock (196-84, college: G.Washington) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Anell Alexis (200-90, college: Norfolk St., agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Joel Tesis (206-82, college: John Brown) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Correcaminos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toros and Caballos. Correcaminos is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Halcones (#6) in Panama City in the next round where they are favorite. Caballos will play at home against Panteras (#5) and are hoping to win this game.
