Regular Season Round 8: Scandone AV - Enel Brindisi 83-81

A very interesting game took place in Avellino. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Enel Brindisi (4-4) to fifteenth ranked Scandone AV (3-5) 83-81 on Sunday evening. Strangely Enel Brindisi outrebounded Scandone AV 45-33 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Adrian Banks (191-86, college: NW Mississippi CC) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian center Djordje Gagic (210-90, agency: Beo Basket) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Scandone AV moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with AV Cantu and JuveCaserta. Enel Brindisi at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Scandone AV's next round opponent will be O.Lavoro BO (#15) in Bologna.
