Regular Season Round 9: Albacete - Torrelodones 87-84

A very interesting game took place in Albacete. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Torrelodones (3-3) to third ranked Albacete (5-1) 87-84 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Torrelodones. Torrelodones was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Albacete dominated on the defensive end, holding Torrelodones to just 7 points in third quarter. It was a great shooting night for Albacete especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American point guard Marcel Mosley (183, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) nailed 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Cuban forward Georvys Elias (199-81) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) came up with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Jordan Djounorou added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Torrelodones in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Torrelodones' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Albacete have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Tenerife Naut. Newly promoted Torrelodones keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Albacete's next round opponent will be Real Canoe (#5) in Madrid. Torrelodones will play at home against Tenerife Naut. and hope to win that game.
