Regular Season Round 10: Basket Esch - Musel Pikes 79-80

The most exciting game of round 10 in the Total League took place in Esch. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Basket Esch (5-5) to third ranked Musel Pikes (7-3) 80-79 in the game for the third place. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 21-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Joe Kalmes (200-95) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Jibril Hodges (188-84, college: Long Beach St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international swingman Patrick Arbaut (186-87) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Musel Pikes maintains third position with 7-3 record having just three points less than leader Amicale. Basket Esch at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Sparta and Etzella. Musel Pikes are looking forward to face Soleuvre (#9) in Belvaux in the next round where they are favorite. Basket Esch will play on the road against Heffingen (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
