Regular Season Round 18: Osaka Evessa - Kanazawa Samuraiz 74-68

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Osaka Evessa and 5th ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz had identical 9-6 record. This time Osaka Evessa used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Ishikawa 74-68 on Sunday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-13. But Kanazawa Samuraiz won second period 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osaka Evessa made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention Blackledge played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Tsukino Masato (178-88) with 20 points and American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Osaka Evessa (10-6) moved-up to third place, which they share with Shimane SM. Loser Kanazawa Samuraiz dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Osaka Evessa will face league's leader Hamamatsu Phoenix in Mikawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kanazawa Samuraiz will play at home against Okinawa GK (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
