No shocking result in a game in Malaga where third ranked Moron (6-2) defeated 10th ranked Clinicas Rincon (3-5) 59-54 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 18-4 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Moron dominated on the defensive end, holding Clinicas Rincon to just 4 points in third quarter. They also forced 24 Clinicas Rincon turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Alejandro Marin (190-88) who scored 13 points. American forward Mike Phillips (201-91, college: Howard) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Congolese forward Judicael Belemene (205-97) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and DR Congolese center Viny Okouo (215-97) added 7 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Moron moved-up to second place, which they share with Lucentum. Loser Clinicas Rincon dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Moron will face Araberri (#7) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round where they are favorite. Clinicas Rincon will play on the road against Sammic ISB in Azpeitia and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
