Regular Season Round 7: Marghera - Scrivia 78-60

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Marghera's (3-4) home victory over 11th ranked Scrivia (1-6) in Venezia 78-60 on Sunday. The game without a history. Marghera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Scrivia to just 7 points in second quarter. It was a very good performance for forward Carla Fabris (185-86) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Naturalized Argentinian guard Laura Nicolini (174-75) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Silvia Gabba (170-82) answered with 17 points and power forward Annalisa Vitari (185-96) added 11 points in the effort for Scrivia. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Marghera moved-up to ninth place in A2. Scrivia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Marghera will face league's second-placed Milano on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Scrivia will play against Costa Masnaga (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
