There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Chalon/Saor (5-4) won against at home higher ranked Strasbourg IG (5-3) 88-76 on Sunday. Strasbourg IG was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Chalon/Saor made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Strasbourg IG was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (185-88, agency: Comsport) answered with 27 points and American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Strasbourg IG. Chalon/Saor moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Strasbourg IG keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Chalon/Saor will face higher ranked Entente Orleans 45 (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
