Regular Season Round 9: Limoges - Paris-Levallois 84-62

Rather expected game when 14th ranked Paris-Levallois (3-6) was smashed on the road by twelfth ranked Limoges CSP Elite (5-4) 84-62 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Limoges CSP Elite. Paris-Levallois was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Paris-Levallois 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Limoges CSP Elite looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for German point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Ali Traore (205-85, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Limoges CSP Elite's coach Philippe Herve felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Haylett Sports) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Chris Jones (178-91, college: Louisville) added 13 points in the effort for Paris-Levallois. Four Paris-Levallois players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Paris-Levallois keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. Limoges CSP Elite will face league's leader ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Paris-Levallois will play against the league's second-placed Gravelines-Dunkerque (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
