Regular Season Round 8: Naft Abadan - Chemidor 77-64

Second defeat of Chemidor (6-2) against fourth ranked Naft Abadan (6-2) 77-64 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Chemidor. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Naft Abadan. Chemidor managed to win fourth quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Chemidor 43-26 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naft Abadan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International Mohammad Jamshidi (199-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Naft Abadan players scored in double figures. Naft Abadan's coach Hemad Sameri used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Oshin Sahakian (200-86) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-94) added 16 points in the effort for Chemidor. Naft Abadan keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Petrochimi and Chemidor. Chemidor will play next round against Samen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Naft Abadan will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Shah.Tabriz on the road.
