Regular Season Round 8: Hapoel Holon - Ironi Nahariya 61-70

Date: November 23, 2015
There was no surprise when 10th ranked Hapoel Holon (2-5) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Ironi Nahariya (5-3) 70-61. The game without a history. Ironi Nahariya led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Hapoel Holon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was also dominated by American players. The winners were led by swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) supported him with 4 points and 11 rebounds. Ironi Nahariya's coach Eric Elfasi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by forward Mike Moser (203-90, college: Oregon, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Holon. Forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) added 13 points for the hosts. Ironi Nahariya moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Holon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Ironi Nahariya's next round opponent will be league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and it may be the game of the week. Hapoel Holon will play at home against Hapoel Eilat (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
