Regular Season Round 9: DongGuan L. - Bayi R. 104-89

Very expected game when 14th ranked Bayi Rockets (3-6) were defeated on the road by eighth ranked DongGuan Leopards (5-3) 104-89. The game was mostly controlled by DongGuan Leopards. Bayi Rockets was better in second period 29-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when DongGuan Leopards won last quarter 33-19. They made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. DongGuan Leopards had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St., agency: Priority Sports) nailed 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Hanchen Luo (188-94) accounted for 13 points and 6 assists. Forward Yuchen Zou (197-96) came up with 27 points and 9 rebounds and guard Yuxiang Tian (185-92) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Bayi Rockets in the defeat. Five DongGuan Leopards and four Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. DongGuan Leopards moved-up to seventh place. Bayi Rockets at the other side keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. DongGuan Leopards' next round opponent will be Jiangsu TX (#10) at home. Bayi Rockets will play against the league's second-placed Sichuan BW (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
