Regular Season Round 8: Crocodiles - United 63-66

Seventh-ranked Townsville Crocodiles (4-10) gave a tough game to first ranked United (10-3) in Wulguru on Thursday. The visitors from Melbourne managed to secure only three-point victory 66-63. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-63. United dominated on the defensive end, holding Townsville Crocodiles to just 7 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Stephen Holt (193-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Hakim Warrick (206-82, college: Syracuse) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. International swingman Clint Steindl (200-89, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 25 points and American guard Jordair Jett (188-91, college: St.Louis) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. United maintains first position with 10-3 record. Townsville Crocodiles at the other side keep the seventh place with ten games lost. United are looking forward to face Adelaide 36ers (#4) in Findon in the next round. Townsville Crocodiles will play at home against New Zealand Breakers and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
