Regular Season Round 10: Lahti - KTP II 102-62

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Lahti (9-1) outplayed at home 5th ranked KTP II (6-3) 102-62 on Thursday. The game without a history. Lahti led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KTP II's 38. They outrebounded KTP II 62-23 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for the former international Vesa Makalainen (200-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Ville Karvonen (198-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Lahti players scored in double figures. Lahti's coach Arttu Mannelin felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Tomi Lommi (193-96) replied with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Joni Tarvonen (189-89) added 11 points in the effort for KTP II. Newly promoted Lahti maintains second position in Division with 9-1 record having just one point less than leader UU-Korihait. KTP II at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Lahti will face HyPo (#13) in Hyvinkaa in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
