Regular Season Round 9: Chemidor - Samen 83-70

Rather predictable result in Tehran where third ranked Chemidor (7-2) defeated 7th ranked Samen (4-5) 83-70. It looked good early as Samen took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Chemidor took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 13 points. Samen was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. International forward Amir Sedighi (203-93) nailed 30 points for the winning side and the former international point guard Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-94) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Chemidor players scored in double figures. The former international forward Nima Bakhshi (198-89) came up with 22 points and Lithuanian power forward Povilas Cukinas (210-83) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for Samen in the defeat. Samen's coach Mehdi Sahebian rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Chemidor keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Petrochimi and Naft Abadan. Samen at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost. Chemidor will play against Shahrdari Gorgan (#4) at home in the next round. Samen will play against the league's second-placed Petrochimi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
