Regular Season Round 9: Gorgan - Ayandeh Sazan 78-61

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Ayandeh Sazan (1-8) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (6-3) 78-61. The game without a history. Shahrdari Gorgan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ayandeh Sazan to just 5 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Ayandeh Sazan 57-38 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side and guard Adnan Doraghi (190-88) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Shahrdari Gorgan's coach Mohammad Izadpanah allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Pejman Sakenian (190) came up with 20 points and power forward Amir Abbas Mohabbat (200-83) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ayandeh Sazan in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Shahrdari Gorgan. They maintain fourth place with 6-3 record. Newly promoted Ayandeh Sazan stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. They share it with Army. Shahrdari Gorgan will play against higher ranked Chemidor (#3) in Tehran in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ayandeh Sazan will play at home against Arak (#5) to get more than just one victory in their record.
