Regular Season Round 21: Penarol - Obras Basket 74-82

The most shocking disappointment of round 21 was a home defeat of 3rd placed Penarol (10-7) to fourth ranked Obras Basket (11-6) 82-74 in the game for the third place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Penarol won third quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Obras Basket won last quarter 24-17. International Selem Safar (190-87) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and international center Marcos Delia (209-92) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four Obras Basket players scored in double figures. Obras Basket's coach Trifon Poch used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Okosa (208-80, college: La Salle) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American-Jordanian swingman Jimmy Baxter (193-80, college: S.Florida) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Obras Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with Regatas C. Penarol at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
