Regular Season Round 6: Denain - Evreux 89-81

ALM Evreux (4-1) recorded its first loss on the court of eleventh ranked Denain Voltaire. Visitors were defeated by Denain Voltaire 89-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of ALM Evreux. It looked good early as ALM Evreux took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Denain Voltaire had a 27-17 second period charge getting the lead and ALM Evreux was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-89. Denain Voltaire forced 19 ALM Evreux turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Isaia Cordinier (194-96) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. Denain Voltaire's coach Jean-Christophe Prat allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Drake Reed (194-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Inception Sports) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Denain Voltaire (3-3) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Roanne and Lille. ALM Evreux at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Hyeres-Toulon and Bourg. Denain Voltaire will play against higher ranked Hyeres-Toulon (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ALM Evreux will play against JA Vichy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
