Regular Season Round 7: Batumi - Sokhumi 90-78

An interesting game for Batumi (6-1) which hosted in Batumi 3rd placed Sokhumi (4-3). First ranked Batumi managed to get a 12-point victory 90-78. It looked good early as Sokhumi took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Batumi took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sokhumi to just 7 points in second quarter. It was a great evening for international Besik Lezhava (192-86, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 7 assists. International Akaki Dvalishvili (206-91) helped adding 20 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side forward Giorgi Jgerenaia (206-90, college: N.Georgia) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Matt Glover (196-91, college: USF) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Batumi have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Sokhumi at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Olimpi. Batumi will play against Dinamo Tbilisi (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sokhumi will play against Energy Invest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
