Very important is a home loss of third ranked Brasilia (3-3) against thirteenth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (6-1) on Friday night. Host Brasilia was edged by Paschoalotto/Bauru in a tough game in Brasilia 111-114. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But Brasilia won second period 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Paschoalotto/Bauru made 32-of-39 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Brasilia only scored sixteen points from the stripe. Paschoalotto/Bauru shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Brasilia was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American Robert Day (198-82, college: W.Oregon) helped adding 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international point guard Fulvio de Assis (188-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 assists and center Ronald Reis (211-91) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Paschoalotto/Bauru have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 6-1 record. Brasilia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brasilia will play at home against Mogi (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
