Regular Season Round 6: Lille - St Quentin 50-69
Date: November 27, 2015
Saint-Quentin's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Lille Metropole (3-3) on the road game in Lille 69-50 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-50. Nigerian power forward Dinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: Inception Sports) notched 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Ryan Evans (203-90, college: Wisconsin) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. Even 27 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Jamal Jones (203-93, college: Texas A&M, agency: HMS) did not help to save the game for Lille Metropole. Naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (204-85) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Saint-Quentin (1-5) left bottom position moving up to seventeenth place, which they share with Charleville. Loser Lille Metropole dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Roanne and Denain. Saint-Quentin will meet at home higher ranked Boulazac Basket (#11) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lille Metropole will play against Poitiers and hope to secure a win.
