Regular Season Round 8: TU/Rock - TTU 77-66

No shocking result in a game when second ranked TU/Rock (7-2) beat 8th ranked TTU (2-7) in Tartu 77-66. The game was mostly controlled by TU/Rock. TTU was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by TTU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Tanel Kurbas (197-88) who scored 19 points. American forward Brian Harper (206-85, college: Paine, agency: HMS) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. Four TU/Rock players scored in double figures. TU/Rock's coach Gert Kullamae allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Kristjan Kitsing (205-90) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and international point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Defending champion maintains second position with 7-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Rapla. TTU at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. TU/Rock's next round opponent will be Parnu (#4) at home.
