Regular Season Round 10: Andujar - Coin 73-83

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Andujar (4-2) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Coin (5-1) 83-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Andujar. It was a key game for the top position in Group D-East. Andujar was ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 49-29 second half run of Coin. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Andujar to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 20 Andujar turnovers. Strangely Andujar outrebounded Coin 43-28 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Juan Vasco (200-83) notched 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Fran Robles (191-81) supported him with 14 points. Coin's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by center Diego Perez (204-93) did not help to save the game for Andujar. Center Joaquin Garcia (202-86) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Coin keeps a position of Group D-East leader. Andujar at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Cordoba and Medacbasket. Coin will play against Novaschool (#7) in Malaga in the next round where they are favorite. Andujar will play on the road against Medacbasket (#3) in Malaag and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
