Regular Season Round 15: Aishin AW - Hitachi Cougars 70-54

Bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars (0-13) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 13th consecutive match to eighth ranked Aishin Wings (5-10) 70-54 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Wings. Hitachi Cougars was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 5 points in second quarter. Aishin Wings dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Cougars' 22. It was a great evening for international power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points. The former international swingman Tanaka Masaki (171-88) helped adding 11 points. The best for the losing side was guard Kasumi Takahashi (167-87) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Ishiguro Mutsumi scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Aishin Wings maintains eighth place with 5-10 record. Hitachi Cougars lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. Aishin Wings will face again Hitachi Cougars (#10) in Hitachinaka in the next round.
