Very expected game when 14th ranked Fondi (2-8) was crushed at home by ninth ranked Scafati Cesarano (5-5) 78-55 on Saturday. Center Biagio Sergio (199-86) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Roberto Malpede (197-88) chipped in 12 points during the contest. Four Scafati Cesarano players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Antonello Lilliu (182-82) responded with 17 points and swingman Angelo Luzza (197-95) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Scafati Cesarano moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Varese Coels. Loser Fondi dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Scafati Cesarano will face Isernia (#12) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Fondi will play against Scauri and hope to win that game.
